Take Up your Cross...

We are doing a series of discipleship studies with one of the couples from the Neb's.
Last night as James went over their homework from the week before, he asked,

"What do you think it means to take up your cross and follow Jesus?"

The wife, who made a profession of Salvation during the Neb's, replied,
"It means to admit you are a sinner, repent of your sin, put your faith in Jesus' death and resurrection as the only way of salvation, deny yourself and walk in His way."

I sat there in amazement thinking only the Holy Spirit working in her heart could have convinced her of these truths.

God is SO good.

We praise Him for the work He is doing in the hearts of this dear family.
Will you pray with us for the seed of faith to be sown in good soil, that it would be protected from the cares of this world that will seek to choke it out?

(I want to add that we are especially thankful for Hannah's help during our studies.  She is so good at helping by playing with their young daughter.  Hannah definitely has the gift of entertaining younger children and we are blessed to have her help.)
