Family Update

Well, here's a little peek at what we've been up to these days.

We moved out of our house last Thursday and stored all of our belongings in a little store front. Yesterday the relator came to look over the house and today the owner came and liberated us. James is there right now to pay our last bills and close out our contract. God worked in many little details and we did not have to do any major work to the house. We praise Him for His grace to us in this. Last Friday we traveled about 800 km to northern Parana for a conference. We praise the Lord for the opportunity James had to preach 3 messages on the Centrality of the Gospel in our lives.

We also were so thankful for a time of great fellowship with old friends and the chance to make some new friends as well.

We got home from our trip on Monday night and Tuesday were able to start our good-byes. We are so thankful for a chance to eat lunch with one of our neighbors. It was one more chance to talk with them about the Lord. We are so burdened for their salvation. Pray with us for this family.
The kids really enjoyed playing one more time with Jessica who was their babysitter during our time here. Daniel of course NEVER needed a babysitter (doesn't his face show it??)Last night we were able to make one last visit with a family that we have been working with. Continue to pray that they too will be saved.

We are currently staying with David & Sharon and enjoying their new home with them. We have about a week and a half before we head out to Texas! Keep praying for our church here that the people will grow in the wisdom and knowledge of God.

Daniel's Baptism

We were so excited to see Daniel obey the Lord in being baptized on Sunday.

This verse touched my heart today and challenged me.

...Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
I Peter 1:18-19

I am so glad that Daniel has seen his sin and turned to our precious Savior for Salvation. What a joy to see him beginning to walk in obedience.

Happy Mothers Day Mom

I am so thankful for my mother who raised me to know and love God. Who loved me when I was unlovable. Who lets me share my heart and corrects me in love. I am thankful for a Mother and Father who love God enough to give Him their daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren to live thousands of miles away. Who sacrificed their dreams of living near their grand-kids for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But what's the surprise? That is what they taught us as we grew up.
"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:26

It's not really "hate" here but this word is used to attack the destructive love of a person loving the gift of God more than God Himself.
-Thank you Mom & Dad for loving God with all your heart.

Sacrificial love -
"Life proceeds out of death -
Your children will live to the degree of your dying."
(Gospel-powered Parenting)

Now I am a mother. Trying to teach my kids to know and love God. Thank you God for the privilege. Recently Daniel wrote this Poem for School.
Family -
My brother thinks family is fun playing together.
My sister says family is fun watching movies together.
My mother says family is a gift from God, a big hug, and lots of fun.
My Dad thinks it is a mother and father that live together forever.
I think family is a house of love. -Daniel Taylor

Let the CHANGES Begin...

To say that things here are in upheaval seems diminutive. CHANGE is in the air.

The past two weeks we have been painting and cleaning and painting and painting and...MOVING!! Friday David and Sharon where able to move into their new home.
It was really neat to see our church step in to help finish all the final details of the project.

Several days Anderson was there, using his vacation days to help paint.

My kids love riding their bikes to the new house and racing up and down the flat street while Sharon and I tired to get a little cleaning done.

Friday was the big moving day and that night we had a celebration dinner of Pizza and Ice cream with hot fudge.

Saturday we helped get the old house cleaned up.
It was great to have two ladies from the church lend a hand.

Sunday we held our last services at the old house.
Wednesday we will begin holding our services at the new house while the church continues to look for a building to rent.

Sunday was my Birthday and Sharon graciously made me a great birthday dinner in her new home. It was so fun to have a big dinner there.

My birthday lunch

  • Pray today as David & Sharon's old house is turned back over to the realty, that the process would go smoothly.
  • Pray for James and I as we are packing and looking for a place to store our things while we are on furlough.
  • Pray for our first Church Baptism on May 15.
  • Pray for a rental facility for our church.
