A Week of Blessings

Thank you for praying with us for the studies and outreaches we were privileged to be a part of this week.

Thursday night our final study on the Gospel went really well. Anderson told James that he can't seem to find repentance. James told him to pray and ask God to grant him repentance and faith. Continue to pray with us for this dear family.

Valeria, Anderson and Ana Julia

Today our 4th Kids Bible Club went really well. We had 16 kids come to the club and 5 first time visitors. Wednesday night we had a wonderful visit with Marcia (The woman we had been trying to visit since July) and were able to bring her daughter, Gabriella to the club today. She had a wonderful time and we are praying that she and her brother will return next week.

Thank you for praying for our visit with Marcia. She was very open to hearing the Gospel and set up a Bible study with us to begin in November. Pray that she will make time in her schedule to seek God.
Sylene

Friday we went to visit one of our regular attenders, Sylene. She is in her 60's, raised catholic, and afraid to die. We have been sharing the Gospel with her repeatedly since May and Friday James and I both thought she would confess Jesus as her Savior right then! She told us she understood everything but she needed to think about it. Pray that God will bring her to repentance and that she would place her faith in Christ.

Our neighbor and his friend at our Christmas party last year.

Today, James went out to help our neighbor replace a broken concrete panel on his sidewalk. Over the hour and a half that James was out there, he was able to really talk with the man regarding his standing before God. We had been praying for an opportunity to talk with him again and praise the Lord for this chance to proclaim the truth to this man.

There is no greater privilege than to share the Gospel with others. James and I both are so thankful for each opportunity God gives us.

Prayer Update

PRAY: for our final Bible Study with Anderson and Valeria. Thursday evening, James will present the final study on the Gospel. This study is on their response to Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection on their behalf. Pray that they will respond by humbly admitting their need and placing their faith in Christ's finished work.

PRAY: for a future meeting place for our church. We have been meeting in David's home for over a year now and are starting to really fill up. Over the past 2 months we have had at least 3 Sunday evenings with 25 people present. Pray that God will provide a reasonably priced rental for us to use until we can buy.

PRAISE: Today we had an answer to prayer that has been months in coming. In July one of the visiting teams did a survey at a home where the woman was very interested in a follow-up Bible study. She sent her two children to our club the entire week and we were so excited to follow up with her. James and I went to her home MANY times. Always different days, different times and she was never home. We decided to try one more time this morning. She was home! We were able to schedule a visit for tomorrow night.

PRAY : that she will actually be home AND for James that he will be able to give a CLEAR presentation of the Gospel and that she would be interested in more studies or coming to church.

PRAY: for our last 2 Saturday Clubs this month. We would really like to reach more families these next two weeks. Pray that God will bring more children. Pray that these children would bring their parents to a Sunday service this month.

PRAISE: Yesterday David had a great Bible study with a young man. His family has been prayed for and worked with for months. Check out the whole story here.

Thank you for partnering with us in God's work here. Your prayers on our behalf are very important! The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much!

Karate Meet

Saturday was Daniel's first Karate Meet. He was a little nervous to go, but in the end he loved it and can't wait for his next chance to compete.

Those who won medals at the meet
(Daniel is on the far right)

He had to perform a solo routine in front of the judges but didn't place in this event. His second event was a solo fight. He did well but lost 3-4. Both of these events were good practice and confidence builders.

The last event was a team fight. He did well, gaining several points for his team, helping them finish in 2nd place. He proudly wore his medal for the next 2 days!

We are very thankful for this experience in Daniel's life. It is exciting to see him develop discipline and the ability to face his fears.

Club Update

Bible story during the first week

We have just finished the 2nd out of 5 Saturday Bible Clubs. The first week we had wintry weather and God brought 4 kids to the club, not including ours. It was worth is all to me when one little boy, Alex, said, "Jesus rose again?" He had heard that Jesus had died on the cross but he had never heard why or that he rose again. The Gospel was proclaimed to a 9 year old who had never heard. He came back this week excited to be learning more about the Good News!

Alex

Today is the weekend of Children's Day. Everyone was doing fun free things for kids this afternoon. We had trainload after trainload of kids pass by our club, but we had trouble getting any new kids to come. We ended up catching 3 brothers as they passed by and they joined us.

Daniel and Hannah were able to participate in the story today. Daniel was Naaman and Hannah was the servant girl.

After the story time we did a craft. All the supplies were donated by Fellowship Baptist Church in Dublin, Ohio. We were so thankful for the fun activity that reminded the kids of God's love for them.

The kids who came all really enjoyed the day. Pray with us that God's Word will not return void and that we will be able to reach more kids in the weeks to come.
