BIG News!

Today, Daniel lost his FIRST tooth! We were in the car and he hands me the tooth and says, "Here's my tooth." I have to say I was very surprised.

We have washed the tooth and put it in a special book my mom gave us a few years ago and are now waiting for the IMAGINARY toothfairy to exchange it for money.

This is one special boy for, as he got ready for bed tonight, he cleaned his room for the toothfairy!!!!!

Our Trip to Londrina

Last Weekend, James preached at a Conference in Londrina, Parana. We drove 6 hours NE and saw some beautiful countryside. I have to say that it reminded me of the Heartland of America. Beautiful, rolling hills and cattle or crops as far as the eye could see.

We arrived on Thursday and James began his series on Heaven that evening. We worked with Missionaries David and Geri Smith in their two church plants.
They also have a Brazilian missionary working with them. This is the mother church where David is the main pastor. God has really blessed this young church; they own their own property and already have the first phase of their building complete.

This is the second church where the Brazilian is the primary pastor. This church is still less than one year old. The man in the green shirt is Pastor Guto. The church owns property across the street but is currently renting this store front. Please pray for both of these churches.

Over the weekend, James preach 5 times between the two churches. He was tired when it was over but we were all blessed as we meditated on Heaven and what we have to look forward to.

I really enjoyed being able to sing with the ladies group on Sunday evening.

One big blessing of the weekend was the fellowship with the Smiths. They had two teenage daughters at home and they loved the kids. Rachel found lots of fun toys for the kids to experiment with. Daniel didn't want to leave! Rebecca was always willing to play with the kids and was a great baby sitter! James and I had been working with Daniel to tie his shoes and Rebecca was able to teach him one evening. Thanks Rebecca!

Daniel has been dying to try to drink from a coconut and finally he got the chance! Now he wants to try the brown coconut. Did you know that during one war, there was a shortage of IV fluid and so they used Coconut juice??? I guess it is pretty healthy.
I caught this video of the kids practicing their verse during Sunday School. Hope you enjoy!

Giving THANKS in all things...

Today we attended Missionary prayer meeting for our station. We meet once a month on a Tuesday afternoon for prayer and a little fellowship. We have the privilege to serve in Curitiba with 6 other couples. They are each such great examples to us, but...

Today I left feeling sad.

As each couple went around the room and shared a few prayer requests we received updates on several who are facing SERIOUS, ongoing, physical problems.

Satan is working as hard as he can to hinder the work of God here. If he cannot succeed in distracting us by external temptations, he resorts to our health.

Yet these missionaries, who remind me of Paul, through various trial both physical and spiritual, continue on, seeking those things which are above.

No matter the physical difficulties, each one was so FULL of PRAISE to God.

"Give thanks to Him and bless his name!
For the Lord is good;
His steadfast love endures forever,
And his faithfulness to all generations."
Psalm 100:4b-5

Conference on Londrina

We are heading out to Londrina tomorrow for a conference. I saw this poster that advertises the conference and I thought you might enjoy seeing it too.
Can you guess what the theme of the Conference is???

Pray for James as he speaks 5 times over the next four days. Pray that God will work in the hearts of both the saved and the unsaved. Pray also for us as we travel about 6 hours each way.

A Special Welcome

Last Monday, March, 31st, the Taylor clan headed to Sao Paulo to welcome David, Sharon & Gabriel to Brazil. They were scheduled to arrive at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday and they wouldn't depart for Joao Pessoa until 9:15 p.m. We just couldn't pass up the chance to spend a few hours with our family as well as meet the newest Taylor!

David and Sharon arrived right on schedule and although they traveled with lots of bags, had no trouble getting through customs. They did lose one bag which will eventually catch up with them in Joao Pessoa.
Grandpa and Granna were thrilled to meet their newest grand baby!

Hannah was so excited to see Uncle David and Aunt Sharon.

The first thing on our list was to get a good 'ole Brazilian coffee, and of course Cheese bread!
Umm, umm good!

After leaving the airport we went to our hotel to spend the day; resting, talking, and just being together.

Daniel bonded right away with his newest cousin:)

It was so nice to talk face to face. It had almost been a year since we had seen them!

Poor Aunt Sharon could hardly get away from us to take a shower!
Jeremiah had to get some bonding time in with Uncle David too:)

We tried to get a picture of all the Taylor Grandkids, this is the best we could get!
Pretty cute huh?

For lunch we HAD to go to a churrasco....yummmy!
After lunch the kids decided it was time to swim!
(we got Gabriel his first pair of Brazilian flip-flops, arn't they cute!)It was a little cool outside, but fun for all!

We girls enjoyed some poolside conversation while the boys played.
Unfortunately, they had to go back to the airport...:(
Aren't we quite the group??
I think everyone was a little tired and emotional.
One last picture and off you go!On to Joao Pessoa...
We can't even imagine what adventures this year will bring. It is so amazing to see how His hand has led them to serve in North East Brazil. David will be working as an interm pastor and they will also work in the camping ministry as well.
Pray for us as we serve the Lord, now and hopefully next year in Florianopolis!
