Special Blessings

This weekend we had an opportunity to visit with James' cousin and her family. We had a great visit, even though our time was brief.

James & I and Christy & Greg all went to college together at Faith Baptist Bible College. We were able to be part of each other's weddings in some fashion and have kept in touch over the years. It is so neat to see our children play together. I also enjoy the sharpening we receive as we talk with them. God has blessed us so greatly with our family.

One added blessing was seeing Greg's dad, who was one of my education professors at Faith. It has been really neat to continue to fellowship with him and his sweet wife. I was so encouraged on Sunday to see my professor singing in his church choir. Just to see evidence of his love for the Lord was very special for me. We were invited over to their home for Sunday dinner. We felt so loved and cared for by these two precious servants.

I am so thankful that God has challenged me to see His hand of blessing in both the LARGE events of life and the small. On the days when I feel discouraged and wonder if God is working, I will look back and smile at special blessings like these dear people.

A Last Minute Trip

Our little nephew turned one last weekend. My brother and his wife were going to attend the party and then my parents decided to attend. We didn't want to be left out so we headed out for a last minute trip to visit family! It was so nice to be able to all be together one last time.

We drove all night Thursday and arrived just after breakfast on Friday. We were able to help with party preparations and enjoy some great fellowship. Saturday was a beautiful day and we spent it entirely outside!
My parents really enjoyed having all their grandkids around for the weekend. They were in their element!
Andrew successfully ate his first cupcake, thoroughly enjoying the green frosting!
Sunday we were able to go to Campus Baptist Church, our newest supporting church! It was great to see some old friends.

Monday morning we were able to go visit James' Grandma. We are so thankful for this time with family. Realizing it may be four years before we see these people again is hard to think about.
One of our traditions with Vovo is to go to Pizza Ranch! Uummm good! They have the best dessert pizza.

The Lord has done great things for us;
we are glad.
Psalm 126:3

I found this verse marked in Vovo's Bible. Next to it was written, "Bud & my verse." They had engraved this verse on their wedding rings. What a testimony of their lives.

Our prayer is that we will all join them in proclaiming,
"The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad!"

Visa Update

We are so excited to see God bring together all the details of our life in His perfect timing.

We are now at 100% of our needed monthly support!

We FINALLY received our passports!

We were then able to turn in our applications for our visas.

Pray about our visa situation. When James presented all of our documents, they had questions about his license to preach. James had a certificate style license but the consulate wanted a wallet-sized license. Apparently many American denominations provide their preachers with a preaching license they carry in their wallets. They asked James, “Are you preaching now?” James answered that he was. They asked how he could preach if he didn’t have a license on him. James told him, “If they will let me preach, I preach!”

James is going in today to take a couple of extra documents and to see if they need anything else. Keep this situation in your prayers.

We are still praying and preparing to leave June 18th. Again, God is teaching us to trust Him and wait on His timing. I am not sure if we will ever be through learning this lesson!
